Blair Mase is a fourth generation Floridian with a lifelong love for the ocean, wildlife and the great outdoors. For over 30 years she dedicated her career to protecting marine life through her work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) where she specialized in marine mammal health and rescue.

Blair’s passion for conservation and the natural world shines through in everything she does whether she is surfing, paddleboarding, exploring nature trails or spending quality time with her friends and family.

This is Blair’s first children’s book, inspired by a remarkable real-life encounter between a dolphin calf and a shark while conducting field work in Biscayne Bay, FL. Her storytelling reflects her deep connection to the sea and her mission to not only inspire young readers to love and protect the oceans and marine life, but also about the courage and inner strength children can find when facing challenges, just like the young dolphin in the story.
